Tool Pouch and Crafting Kit
The Tool Pouch and the Crafting Kit can be upgraded separately up to four times each. Each of these upgrades offer different improvements to Hornet‘s Tools.
Tool Pouch
Tool Pouch upgrades increase the maximum capacity of Shell Shards by 100, starting with a capacity of 400, up to a maximum of 800.
Tool Pouches also increase the maximum capacity of Red Tools. The increase per pouch varies by Tool and by upgrade, generally being around 25%, with the final upgrade always allowing double the base amount. This effect does not apply to the Rosary Cannon, as its maximum capacity cannot be increased, and the Needle Phial, which has infinite uses.
Repairing any Tool at a bench, except for Rosary Cannon and Flea Brew, costs 40 divided by the Tool’s base capacity.
Using the Shell Satchel, the maximum capacity of Tools can be increased even further depending on the upgrade level.
Crafting Kit
Crafting Kit upgrades increase the damage dealt by damage-dealing Red Tools and Blue Tools by 60%. This effect does not apply to the damage bonus of Flintslate.
Faydown Cloak
The Faydown Cloak grants Hornet two new abilities: an additional jump in mid-air, and resistance to the freezing temperatures of Mount Fay, which would otherwise deal continuous damage after a certain period of time. The Faydown Cloak does not protect against damage from swimming in icy water.
The additional jump will only be refreshed after landing on the ground, clinging to a wall, or Needle Bouncing.
With the Drifter’s Cloak, Hornet must use the Faydown Cloak’s extra jump first before she can float.
Upgrades
Mask Shard
Mask Shards are fragments of ancient masks. 4 Mask Shards are needed to form an ancient mask, which increases Hornet’s health by one Mask.
With a total of 20 Mask Shards in the game, the Mask count can be increased by 5, for a maximum of 10 permanent Masks.
Completing a Mask will also fully restore Hornet’s health.
Spool Fragment
Two Spool Fragments are combined to form a Spool, which increases Hornet’s Silk capacity by 1. There are 18 total Spool Fragments to collect, allowing Hornet to hold 9 additional Silk once all Spool Fragments have been collected, and up to 21 Silk with the Spool Extender.
Completing a Spool will also completely fill Hornet’s Silk meter.
Consumables/Currencies
Pale Rosary Necklace
Can be used from the inventory to gain 340.
Strung Rosaries are not dropped upon death.
Pristine Core
Can be used from the inventory to gain 220.
